Would you keep a horse in these conditions?
The RSPCA have.
AND YET THEY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO PROSECUTE AN AMERSHAM HORSE TRADER FOR DOING THE SAME
Buildings at NantGwynFaen Farm where animals had been kept with nowhere to lie down or eat except in pure muck! When were they cleaned out or given straw ?

Note the jagged rusting corrugated iron sheeting used to block the doorways.

Superintendent Manning of the RSPCA stood next to the unprotected drop when surveyor Mr. Barry Stone was trying to estimate the height of it and said “If it helps I’m 5’5″ but if anything fell over here an inch or so either way wouldn’t make much difference.”

Front and back view of unprotected drop. Spike harrow (drags) in which horses could catch their feet and break a leg.
Note string which animals could eat, and wire and muck.
Just imagine what would happen if a child or a horse ran into this unguarded implement!

There were cattle there and this was where they came to try and drink. Although no water was there at the time, when it rains and fills up, they would undoubtedly try and drink the filthy water.

The water supply for the mares at Nantgwynfaen was a muddy trickle at the bottom of a steep slope and very difficult to get at.

SENIOR Councillor Paul Shotton won an appeal against an animal cruelty conviction and sentence.
Shotton was yesterday cleared of causing unnecessary suffering to 13-year-old labrador Baron.
Last November he received two-year conditional discharges and was banned from keeping dogs for the same period after being found guilty at North Staffordshire Magistrates’ Court.
But yesterday judge Mark Eades, sitting with two magistrates at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, said evidence from veterinary pathologist Dr Udo Hetzel cast a new light on inferences from the first case.
Dr Hetzel, who carried out a post-mortem examination on Baron, said the dog had a heart condition and had a “sudden event” after the Shottons left him to go on holiday on Saturday, July 15, 2006, and before the RSPCA inspector found him.
Judge Eades said: “Dr Hetzel said the factual accounts could all be true and the dog could have had a sudden event. That could have been precipitated by heart problems and heart failure and therefore the inference the prosecution has been asking us to draw – that Shotton had been telling untruths – is not the case.
Dr Hetzel had also said the degree of suffering was not serious and would not reach the level of significance to amount to an offence.
“We are therefore formally of the view that when it comes to proof the prosecution cannot meet the required standard of proof.”
After the judgment, councillor Shotton, aged 48, released a statement. It said: “I am pleased that after two-and-a-half years I have been cleared of every one of the RSPCA’s allegations against us.
“At the original trial the rspca claimed that our much loved family pet Baron was emaciated and dehydrated. He was not.”
Campaign to bring private prosecutions made by the RSPCA under the control of the CPS
Below is the post i put on another thread on this forum, I find it sickening that the rspca can be making money out of peoples misfourtune, if you read what happened to by friend I am sure you will agree that ther is NO JUSTICE.
A friend of ours has 3 lovely rotweillers. 2 bitches and a boy. the boy got to the 2 bitches and before long she ended up with 22 pups. not too much of a problem, until she had their tails docked.
she ended up in court prosecuted by the rspca, was found guilty and fined £3000 + £11,000 costs.
as you can see, the costs awarded to the rspca are horrific.the thing is, the courts only given her 14 days to find the FULL £14,000.
Whilst i dont have a problem with the principle of the prosecution, the financial penalty is disgraceful, she could have robbed a post office and would got of a lot lighter.the rspca’s attitude to my friend was shocking, they treated her like dirt and splashed her name all over the local papers, they got threats from animal activist nutters, damage to their property, threatening phone calls etc etc.she had to remortgage her house to pay the fine, if you work out the interest on that it must be costing over £25k, WHERE IS THE JUSTICE
Will the RSPCA stop “colluding” too?
OF COURSE NOT THEY THINK THAY ARE ABOVE THE LAW !!!!!
Mark Saunders’ family are to drop their action against the police, following the Court of Appeals confirmation that allowing police officers to “confer” before making their statements provides them with an “opportunity for collusion”.
The Association of Chief Police Officers have outlawed the practice. The RSPCA has been repeatedly criticised by the courts for allowing its inspectors and witnesses to meet each other in conference – and even to alter their statements.
Anne Kasica of the SHG said:“It is good news that Mark Saunders tragic loss has resulted in apositive result for justice. ACPO’s decision is obviously right. The question remains whether other agencies – perhaps most notably the RSPCA– will follow suit.
The RSPCA’s pre-trial conferences are such anendemic part of their culture, I wonder whether they will ever be ableto stamp it out – even if their Prosecutions Department tries to stop it.”

This post says it all. Barrister Sally Case (big salary plus indexed-linked pension and other benefits) and her “independent” fat-cat lawyers won’t be happy about ACPO’s concession reported above. Tim Wass and his holy-cow-killers in the RSPCA’s sinister “Special Operations Unit” will never give up their secret pre-trial conferences. The RSPCA needs to keep its conviction rate high – besides, its lawyers just make too much money from them. The charity is, I hear, paying a top barrister £6,500 a day to prosecute a three month in the Magistrates Court. Do the math on that … a brand new car every day? Wow!
I have been in rabbit rescue for many years, five years ago (long before i found this forum)A “friend” who i had fallen out with and who suffers from mental illnes (say no more)i will call Bitch reported me to RSPCA (this was something she did on a regular basis to people she had taken a dislike to)3 months later i got a visit from 2 inspectors (female)
They asked to see my bunnies which i had no problems with and let them in (i now know this was a big mistake)took them to my bun shed where all hell broke loose.
I showed them by buns, they said they were going to take them all (these were buns that had been rescued from breeders that were going to “knock them on the head” for being to old or unfit for use)I told them firmly NO after some arguing one kept me talking while the other one crammed about 10 rabbits into a small hutch, pulled out all the bedding leaving them sitting on the bare, wet floor and took pics.Furious i made her stop (her name was Louise Meade)she then made a fuss about the water bowl saying the water was dirty (it had been put out fresh a few hours before their visit) so i emtied it out,she then took pics of the empty bowl claiming that i had left the buns with no water.so many lies!
I asked them to leave and they did saying they would be back with the Police, after making a few frantic calls i carried on with cleaning out my hutches (i had been doing this when the came)I could see the Police looking through my window so went in to talk to them ,I didn’t open the door but talked thorugh it however, after being threatned with arrest sveral times i offered to allow Meade to speak to me and opened the door a few inches, she suddenly rammed her foot in the door grabbed hold of me,pushed me across the hall into the wall and held my hands up behind me against the wall (i am 5ft.and weigh 7 st.)she then opened the door and “invited” the others in.I tried to save my bunnies as i knew they would be terrifed but 2 Police held me (one on each side) and frog marched me up to my house,I was not allowed to change from the welly boots i was wearing or wash my hands.
Meade told me that unless i signed over my rabbits she would have me put in a cell for the night under arrest, when i asked why she said for resisting arrest BUT if i signed over my buns she would let me go..NO WAY!!!she then proceded to rummage through my fridge looking for illegal ABX that the Bitch had told her that i had and that she was in possesion of and selling to others)
I was dragged out to a waiting Police car and locked inside (they even took away my moble so my family didn’t know what was happening to me)I was left locked up in the car from about 1pm.to 7.30pm.when the cop,s shift ended and they wanted to go home…meanwhile Meade co removed ,against my will, all my rabbits.
Eventually i was taken to my son,s house and let go with me telling them to “**** off” much to my daughter-in-law,s amazement.
next day after numerous call,s from me i was told that their vet could find nothing wrong with my rabbits and they were bringing them back.
They refused to tell me where my buns had been and to this day i still don,t know but due to stress and shock 14 died within a week.
THEY KILLED THEM!
I was even put on their website which they described as my keeping them in filthy conditions when i cleaned them out every day and spent most of my day with them.
To say i hate them is an insult..I just wish that i had known my rights then as mt bunnies would not have died!
Good on you for shaming them i would like them banned!
